Council Member Charles F. Brown has been a member of the Suffolk City Council since 1994 and served as Vice Mayor from 1996-2000. Prior to serving on City Council, Council Member Brown was a member of the Suffolk Planning Commission and also served on the Suffolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority Board of Commissioners.
Council Member Brown holds a Bachelors Degree in Math and Physics from Fayetteville State University and a Masters Degree in Human Resources from George Washington University. He had also completed additional coursework at Harvard University and Old Dominion University. His background in mathematics and science has enabled Council Member Brown to devote his professional life to his personal passion, education - he is an instructor at Northrop Grumman Newport News.
Council Member Brown is an active member of many professional and civic organizations and devotes much of his time to community activities, particularly relating to youth development.
