 Welcome to the Suffolk Police Department web site. The members of our Department view this as a valuable tool to aid in communication efforts with our citizens as well as an effective recruitment tool. We are privileged to provide you with an inside look at our Department and the men and women who serve our community.
The City of Suffolk is a fast growing community comprised of rural, suburban and urban elements. Our Department has the responsibility for providing policing services to all 430 square miles of our City. In an effort to effectively accomplish this task, we have decentralized our Uniform Patrol Section by creating two sectors and increasing geographical access to police services.
The Suffolk Police Department, as our mission statement says, is committed to "law enforcement excellence and public service through partnership with our community."
We are proud of the relationships we have developed with our citizens and consider this partnership to be one of the most effective means to combat and prevent crime.
Law enforcement is a dynamic profession requiring flexibility and constant change in response to the demands of the environment. As our City grows, we are continuing to examine and modify our approach to law enforcement by adding new officers, new technology, and new equipment that will aid us in effectively serving our community.
